Barbara Brown, MD
Barbara A Brown, M.D. received her B.S. from the College of New Jersey and graduated with high honors. Dr. Brown is Board Certified in the practice of Lifestyle Medicine by the American College of Lifestyle Medicine.
She received her M.D. from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in 1995. She served her internship and residency at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick from 1995-1998.
Since completing her residency, Dr. Brown has been in private practice in Monroe and Princeton, New Jersey. She is an attending physician at the University Medical Center at Princeton and is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. She loves teaching medical students and residents and values the opportunity to make a difference in how doctors are trained.
Dr. Brown is board certified in Internal Medicine. Dr Brown is a member of the American College of Physicians as well as the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. She participated in Harvard University’s Institute of Lifestyle Medicine courses this year and will be continuing ongoing course work through Harvard in this exciting area.
Dr. Brown believes that the doctor/patient relationship is of paramount importance. She believes in a heathy lifestyle, fresh foods, exercise and all things in moderation.
She lives in Princeton, N.J. with her family and enjoys running, bike riding, gardening and reading in her spare time.
We congratulate Dr. Brown on her upcoming retirement at the beginning of July 2026. Dr. Lauren Hogshire will be joining our practice when Dr. Brown retires.
Francis Rehor, MD
Dr. Rehor has been a member of Princeton Lifestyle Medicine since 2015 and is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Dr Rehor is a native New Yorker who grew up in Queens, NY. He completed his undergraduate education at New York University completed his Medical Doctorate at the State University of New York at Upstate. He then completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School/UMDNJ.
After residency, Dr. Rehor worked as a Hospitalist at Princeton Medical Center (now Penn Medicine Princeton Health) from 2008 until 2015, at which time he became a member of the Princeton Lifestyle Medicine team. Dr. Rehor remains an active staff member at Penn Medicine Princeton Health. His unwavering philosophy is that healthy lifestyle changes remain at the forefront of wellness but understands that there may be real life obstacles to why patients may not be able to achieve this. He works with every one of his patients to find a solution that fits their personal needs in order to meet their overall goals.
Dr. Rehor has been recognized by New Jersey Magazine’s Top Doctors in Internal Medicine. He is a lifelong Buffalo Bills and Mets fan. His other interests include gardening, swimming and spending time with his family.
Emily Sandberg, MD
Emily K. Sandberg, M.D. received her B.A. from Wesleyan University in 2011. She received her M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine in 2017. Between 2018 and 2020, Dr. Sandberg remained at the University of Pennsylvania where she completed her internship and residency. During her residency, she served on Penn’s Medical Education Leadership Track, was a co-coordinator of Penn’s Refugee Clinic, and taught clinical reasoning and exam skills to medical students.
Following her residency, Dr. Sandberg accepted a clinical and teaching position as an Associate Professor of Medicine at Penn Internal Medicine University City, in Philadelphia. In addition to taking care of her patients, Dr. Sandberg also worked in one of Penn’s Medication for Opioid Use Disorder clinics, and on Penn’s Internal Medicine Antiracism Task Force. Dr. Sandberg left Philadelphia and joined Princeton Lifestyle Medicine in 2022.
Dr. Sandberg is board-certified in Internal Medicine, and she is a member of the American College of Physicians.
Lee Shearer, MD, FACP
Dr. Shearer is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and has over fifteen years of experience practicing primary care internal medicine. After completing her undergraduate studies at Harvard, she was recruited to the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine on a merit-based full scholarship and graduated with AOA honors. Thereafter, she completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Weill Cornell New York Presbyterian Hospital where she was recognized for “excellence in clinical care, compassion, and humanitarianism” and served as Chief Resident. She completed fellowship at Columbia New York Presbyterian Hospital, and has a secondary board certification in Adolescent Medicine.
Dr. Shearer spent her early career as Program Director for the Primary Care Internal Medicine residency program at Weill Cornell New York Presbyterian Hospital where she helped recruit and train the next generation of primary care leaders. She was inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP) for her work in medical education. Since 2020, she has taught medical students and provided primary care to a large and diverse patient panel under the auspices of a regional health care group.
Dr. Shearer's style of care is notable for being thorough and patient-centered. Her background as an educator clearly informs the way she helps patients to understand and weigh different medical and lifestyle decisions related to their health. She looks forward to practicing with Princeton Lifestyle Medicine in order to continue offering high-quality personalized primary care in a fashion that respects patients’ needs.
Lauren Hogshire, MD
Dr. Lauren Hogshire is honored and excited to join Princeton Lifestyle Medicine as Dr. Barbara Brown transitions to retirement. Dr. Hogshire has been the Medical Director of the Princeton Medicine Physicians Hospitalist Service since October 2018 and the Hospitalist Section Chief since 2019. As such, she was responsible for the clinical, educational, and quality efforts of hospitalist services at Penn Medicine Princeton Health. Previously an attending hospital physician at Rutgers-RWJMS, she has worked clinically at Princeton Medical Center since 2014.
As a clinician leader Dr. Hogshire was dedicated to improving inpatient care at the Medical Center while strengthening ties between the institution's hospitalists and the community providers that the hospital serves. It is in this capacity that Dr. Hogshire and Dr. Brown first engaged as colleagues, sharing patients that required hospital based care.
Dr. Hogshire is a longtime Princeton community member, having returned to Princeton in 2010 after completion of her internal medicine residency at Weill Cornell - New York Presbyterian. Before attending Columbia University's College of Physicians & Surgeons for medical school, she attended Princeton University where she learned that her upbringing on Long Island had given her the wrong impression of The Garden State!
In joining Princeton Lifestyle Medicine, Dr. Hogshire is fulfilling a lifelong career goal of serving in the community where she lives. Please join us in welcoming Dr. Hogshire, and note several meet and greet opportunities in the coming months.
