Follow these simple tips to increase your activity and you will notice a difference.

  1. Accumulate 30 minutes of walking on five or more days of the week (three 10- mlnute, two 15-mlnute, or one 30-minute walk)
  2. Plan active weekends (long walks, hiking, walking tours)
  3. Take stairs instead of the elevator
  4. Park at the far end of the parking lot
  5. Walk a few blocks before getting on the bus
  6. Get off the bus a few blocks before your stop
  7. Get up from your desk throughout the day to stretch and walk
  8. Take a 10-minute walk before lunch
  9. Walk your dog
  10. Mow your lawn
  11. Walk instead of drive your car short distances
